Baseball Leagues T-Ball (Age 5) T-Ball is a program designed for the five year old. This program is pure fundamentals. We encourage only five year olds to register for this program so that the T-Ball skill sets are best utilized. These players learn proper throwing mechanics, base running, and some basic rules of the game. T-Ball is a coach pitch, usually from one knee that encourages contact in hitting from the tee. There is no score kept, no balls or strikes, and no outs. All players bat. Nine players play the field.
Instructional Baseball (Ages 6-7) Instructional Baseball is designed for six and seven year old players. This league uses a combination of previous skill and teaching of fundamentals. These players are reminded to use proper throwing mechanics, proper base running, and a continued reinforcement of the basic rules of the game. This league is a coach pitch league. Older league participants are encouraged to try pitching later in the season. There is no score kept, no balls and no strikes.
Jr. Mustang (Age 8) Jr. Mustang Baseball is the first of six leagues within the competitive structure of A.A.Y.O. Rules are enforced by an official A.A.Y.O. Umpire. There is a win/loss record kept by the League Coordinator. Playoff brackets are figured at the end of the season. Pitching is a combination of coach and player pitch. Mustang (Age 9) Mustang Baseball is the second of six leagues within the competitive structure of A.A.Y.O. Rules are enforced by an official A.A.Y.O. Umpire. There is a win/loss record kept by the League Coordinator. Playoff brackets are figured at the end of the season. Pitching is player pitch only. Minors (Age 10) Minors Baseball is the third of six leagues within the competitive structure of A.A.Y.O. Rules are enforced by an official A.A.Y.O. Umpire. There is a win/loss record kept by the League Coordinator. Playoff brackets are figured at the end of the season. Pitching is player pitch only. Broncos (Age 11) NOTE: For the 2007 and 2008 seasons, due to enrollment numbers, Broncos is being combined with Majors. Broncos Baseball is the fourth of six leagues within the competitive structure of A.A.Y.O. Rules are enforced by an official A.A.Y.O. Umpire. There is a win/loss record kept by the League Coordinator. Playoff brackets are figured at the end of the season. Pitching is player pitch only. Majors (Age 12) NOTE: for the 2007 season, Majors will be combined ages 11-12. Majors Baseball is the fifth of six leagues within the competitive structure of A.A.Y.O. Rules are enforced by an official A.A.Y.O. Umpire. There is a win/loss record kept by the League Coordinator. Playoff brackets are figured at the end of the season. Pitching is player pitch only. Pony (Ages 13-14) Pony Baseball is the final league within the competitive structure of A.A.Y.O. Rules are enforced by an official A.A.Y.O. Umpire. Due to the nature of the league and the level of play the umpire is usually certified IHSA. There is a win/loss record kept by the League Coordinator. Playoff brackets are figured at the end of the season. Pitching is player pitch only. |
